A beautiful laid rug acts as a true multi-tasker, exuding style while tying together all the elements of your décor. Whether used as a centrepiece in a room or seamlessly connecting separate spaces, you want your rug to always look its best.

Being such a central component of your interior design, however, your rug can become dirty quickly, particularly if you have kids or pets at home. Soiling caused by dirty shoes or feet can make rugs look worse for wear. And dust that accumulates in them can be abrasive and cause irreversible damage.

Tuft & Weave are experts at breathing new life into your valuable rug – and ensuring it remains as hygienic as possible. We regularly clean a variety of rug types, including Oriental and Persian, wool, silk, sheepskin and cowhide, Antique, contemporary, Chinese, kilim, Afghan, Indian, tapestry, tribal, cotton and designer rugs, as well as synthetic rugs.

Book our professional rug cleaning service and we’ll have your rug cleaned, sanitised, smelling fresh and looking new.

Why choose Tuft & Weave for your next rug clean?

Tuft & Weave are specialists in cleaning fine rug fibres. We understand what it takes to thoroughly clean and groom your rug so it can be returned to the way you remember it. You’ll be proud to showcase your rejuvenated rug as a centrepiece in your favourite living space.

Our cleaning service will remove soil, bacteria and allergens from your rug, leaving it both hygienic and looking great. Having your rug cleaned by Tuft & Weave on a regular basis will also substantially increase your rug’s longevity.

We offer two rug cleaning services to our valued customers – on-site and off-site.

While some rugs can be cleaned on-site, we regard this as a surface clean only. We recommend that all rugs are eventually taken to our rug wash facility for a thorough deep clean. Some rugs can’t be cleaned on-site and must go to our rug wash facility where they can be washed and dried in a controlled environment. These include delicate rugs, rugs with unstable dyes and heavily soiled or contaminated rugs, especially those with pet urine and odour.

Contact us to find out more about our two rug cleaning services:

On-site rug steam cleaning or rug dry cleaning

This is a maintenance clean to refresh the look of your rug. If your rug passes a colourfast test, we use the same process on your rug as we use in our carpet cleaning, with a few technical steps added to ensure maximum soil extraction.

Off-site rug wash

Because not all rug cleaning can be conducted on-site, we offer to clean delicate and heavily soiled rugs at our rug wash facility. Here we use an immersion rug wash process to ensure the deepest clean possible.

As part of this service, we will conduct a pre-inspection of your rug at your home. We’ll then take your rug to our rug wash facility where we’ll use our cutting-edge cleaning equipment to remove dry soil and dust, as well as pre-treat any staining.

After the rug has been given an extensive immersion clean, we’ll rinse it thoroughly and hang it to dry. We’ll then conduct a final inspection of the rug and groom it so it looks just like the rugs you see in the catalogues.

Tuft & Weave recommends you clean and protect your rug every 1–3 years, depending on whether you have
kids and pets, and whether they have suffered any spills or stains.

Extras
Does your rug need more than just cleaning?

Tuft & Weave offers a spot dyeing service to repair discolouration of your favourite rug. Colour loss can be caused by harsh chemicals commonly found in DIY carpet cleaning products and sometimes by using Advanced Stain Removal. Spot dyeing is sometimes necessary to repair damage caused by cheap cleaning products used by inferior rug cleaning services or simply a bleach spot.

For the ultimate in rug protection, ask us about our best-in-class and environmentally friendly solvent-based or water-based rug protection service. Not only is it completely safe for children and pets, it provides an effective barrier against re-soiling, abrasive dust, and water-based and oil-based stains.

Dust mites are tiny insects, too small to be seen by the naked eye, that are the most common allergen-producing organism found in homes. They live in carpets, upholstered furniture, bed pillows and mattresses. The enzymes in their faeces and their hard shells can cause dermatological and respiratory allergies in humans, such as eczema and asthma. In fact, as much as 90 per cent of the population can experience allergy-based symptoms as a result of dust mite allergens.

Tuft & Weave provides a safe and effective way to control dust mite allergens. We offer the Responsible Care System®, an allergy cleaning system that eliminates dust mites from the home. Because it is derived from renewable plant source surfactants, it’s non-toxic to humans, animals and plants.

To further reduce the likelihood of an allergic response to dust mites, we also apply Allergy Relief Treatment during the cleaning process. Allergy Relief Treatment is an aqueous solution that contains a powerful active ingredient derived from naturally occurring extracts found in fruit seeds and plants. Application of the solution can help reduce annoying allergic symptoms for up to six months.
