Give your upholstery and other household Fabric the protection they deserve.
You’ve made the decision to decorate your home with quality upholstery, rug and beautiful carpet. To safeguard your investment in your home, we recommend you protect your surfaces against everyday wear and accidents by protecting them with a fibre protector and implementing a regular maintenance cleaning program.
Unless you keep your soft furnishings and carpet covered with plastic sheets, no amount of protection will keep your surfaces 100 per cent clean. But a good fabric protector will at least give your soft furnishings and carpet a fighting chance.
We’re proud to use Decorgard as our primary fibre protector. Blended and packaged by reputable Australian brand Premium Surface Protection, Decorgard is an environmentally friendly and WoolSafe approved fibre protection solution that delivers outstanding results, no matter the challenge.
The Decorgard product is tailor-made to protect upholstery (especially fine fabric) and is so good it is shipped to discerning international customers from Australia. According to manufacturer Premium Surface Protection: “We guarantee that Decorgard will outperform any other product you have trialled or used in the past”.
Find out more about how Decorgard compares to other products on the market.
Decorgard fibre protection is applied by one of our qualified technicians and then is left to ‘cure’ for approximately 2–4 hours. For optimal protection, surfaces are best left for 24 hours before using.
Decorgard works by repelling both water and oil-based stains for long enough that you can soak up any spills before the fibre is stained permanently. It also repels dirt and dust, making it easier to vacuum dry soil off before it penetrates the fibre pile and causes permanent damage via abrasion.
Applying Decorgard to your upholstery, rugs and carpets will provide you with sustained protection. But it isn’t a ‘set and forget’ solution. Decorgard protection should generally by reapplied every 2–3 years, or after 1–2 professional cleans. It provides longer-lasting protection than other products on the market, many of which last up to one year only.
Keep in mind you’ll need to protect the frequently used lounge in the living room more often than the lounge in the ‘spare room’. The cleaning method and products used will also affect how often fibre protection should be applied. Highly alkaline cleaning products used by other cleaning services will inadvertently break down the protection you have invested in and will need to be re-applied sooner. Highly acidic spills, such as pet urine, will also accelerate the breakdown of the protection.
