Sleep better with a Tuft & Weave professional mattress clean.
We wash our clothes after one wear, especially if we sweat in them. But it’s only rarely that we think about cleaning our mattress.
To keep your mattresses feeling fresh and to protect the health of you and your family, you should consider having them cleaned on a regular basis. When we sleep on our mattress for an extended period of time, the mattress accumulates sweat and dead skin. Mattresses act as a breeding ground for bacteria, and dust mites and their faeces, which can cause allergies.
Tuft & Weave are mattress cleaning experts and use safe, non-toxic and biodegradable products to effectively remove dust mites and mite excrement, dead skin cells, pet dander, stains, germs, bacteria, allergens, odour, mildew and other contaminants from your mattress. Our technicians are fully certified and understand what cleaning techniques are needed to ensure your mattress upholstery fibres are cleaned and sanitised properly.
We clean all mattresses in accordance with the relevant Australian, WoolSafe and IICRC standards.
Book a professional mattress clean with Tuft & Weave and discover what it feels like to sleep on a fresh-smelling and sanitised mattress.
Many people think that unless their mattress has a visible stain, they don’t need to clean it. But maintaining a hygienic mattress means more than just removing stains.
Professional mattress cleaning is recommended every 6–12 months to ensure that dirt, dead skin cells, dust mites and mite excrement, bacteria and other toxins are removed. You may need to have your mattress cleaned more often if you suffer from allergies or other health conditions. We recommend the use of a good-quality mattress protector and that you periodically clean your upholstered bedheads and frames for a comprehensive bed clean.
With Tuft & Weave’s expert mattress cleaning service, you’ll be left with a rejuvenated, healthy and clean mattress that provides you an amazing night’s sleep.
When you engage us to clean your mattress, a qualified technician will pre-inspect the mattress and tailor the right solution to your needs.
Once we’ve completed our inspection, we undertake the following rigorous procedure to obtain the best results for your mattress.
We examine your mattress closely to determine the fibre composition and identify any staining that has occurred. We’ll then speak with you about how we plan to conduct the clean.
Leak-proof drop sheets are laid down to protect your floor and surrounds
Using a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush head, we pre-vacuum your mattress to remove 80% of deeply embedded dry soil.
We conduct a pre-spot to remove any dirt marks unlikely to be removed by normal cleaning.
We condition your mattress with a premium cleaning solution appropriate for the fibre and soil. We agitate the solution to separate the bonded soil from the fibre to achieve a deep and thorough clean. We then conduct soil extraction using Hot Water Extraction (Mattress Steam Cleaning).
Finally, we apply an anti-microbial treatment to the mattress.
We use an advanced stain removal process to address stubborn blood, urine and sweat stains that can’t be removed with the normal cleaning process.
Non-organic stains (e.g. ink, oil or synthetic colour stains) require the use of harsher chemicals such as solvents. We don’t use these types of chemicals on mattresses and therefore we don’t offer treatment of non-organic stains on mattresses.
Dust mites are tiny insects, too small to be seen by the naked eye, that are the most common allergen-producing organism found in homes. They live in carpets, upholstered furniture, bed pillows and mattresses. The enzymes in their faeces and their hard shells can cause dermatological and respiratory allergies in humans, such as eczema and asthma. In fact, as much as 90 per cent of the population can experience allergy-based symptoms as a result of dust mite allergens.
Tuft & Weave provides a safe and effective way to control dust mite allergens. We offer the Responsible Care System®, an allergy cleaning system that eliminates dust mites from the home. Because it is derived from renewable plant source surfactants, it’s non-toxic to humans, animals and plants.
To further reduce the likelihood of an allergic response to dust mites, we also apply Allergy Relief Treatment during the cleaning process. Allergy Relief Treatment is an aqueous solution that contains
a powerful active ingredient derived from naturally occurring extracts found in fruit seeds and plants. Application of the solution can help reduce annoying allergic symptoms for up to six months.
